The race
Overview
Created in 2003, the Grand Prix de Chambéry was first a major event on the French national calendar (long the opening round of the French women's cycling cup). The race took a decisive international step by joining the UCI calendar in 2021 (category 1.2), before being promoted to UCI category 1.1 in 2022. It is today one of France's benchmark spring classics, regularly attracting several WorldTour teams.
