The race
Overview
Created in 2015 as a one-day race in Madrid (the "Madrid Challenge"), the event grew step by step (two days, then three, then five under the name Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta). In 2023 it became La Vuelta Femenina, a genuine stage-race Grand Tour held in spring, immediately establishing itself as one of the three pillars of the women's cycling season alongside the Tour de France Femmes and the Giro d'Italia Women.
